Restructuring trends for 2023 - expert report

The COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine continue to affect the economy, both in Poland and globally. Rising inflation and increases in the prices of goods and services are affecting the operations and development of many enterprises. Some of them, due to the negative impact of the environment, are forced to undergo a restructuring process or, ultimately, to declare bankruptcy.

According to expert forecasts, inflation is expected to peak in the first quarter of 2023 and could reach up to 20%. A further rise in the prices of goods and services and an increase in the cost of doing business may negatively affect entrepreneurs, and thus cause an increase in the number of bankruptcies in relation to the number of restructurings.

The aim of the report is to analyse the impact of the economic situation on the number of restructuring and insolvency proceedings in 2023 and the factors that may influence the improvement of entrepreneurs' finances.
