Challenges for employers in 2023. - Key HR and payroll changes.

JAROSŁAW KOCISZEWSKI: Remuneration is one of the most important elements that both employee and employer think about. It is an integral part of working professionally, but also of running a business. Remuneration is regulated, and it is also subject to legislation of changing, perhaps sometimes excessive complexity. I talk to Ms Anna Kidawa-Pagacz - HR and payroll specialist at JP Weber.

Anna Kidawa-Pagacz: Good morning.

JK: For the past year or so, the Polish Order has been in force. A revolution in the way we think about running a business, as well as in remuneration, payroll and HR. How much has changed over the last year, and how much have these regulations settled in so that, after no small amount of initial confusion, we can say we know where we are.

ACP: A lot has changed and these changes have included and will still include both the issue of benefits, as changes related to the Social Security System Act came into effect on 1 January 2020. This also has an impact on wages and on employer costs. We are discussing here the interests and changes affecting not only employers, but above all employees - that is, actually both groups, standing in a sense on opposite sides, but which are unquestionably linked by an employment relationship or a relationship of principal and contractor or of employer and contractor. Accordingly, we will be discussing matters here from both the employer and employee perspectives.
